“Anna and I have known each other about 19 years”, her best friend began. “It’s really crazy to think that we’ve known each other for almost two decades. We met at church, and have grown up together, pretty much side by side since. And we’ve been through just about every milestone together. We did First Communion together, I watched you get your first tattoo. I remember visiting you at your first job. I remember how crazy cool your first car was, the white station wagon that’d die on us after the 311 and Sublime concert. And now…I’m here by your side on your wedding day. I couldn’t be prouder of you and everything that you’ve accomplished. You’ve always had this brightness, where everything goes a little bit better when you’re around. There’s no doubt in my mind that we’ll always be friends. And Josh, I’m so happy that you and Anna found each other. You’re a gentleman, and a really great man. In all the years I’ve known Anna, I’ve never seen her more radiant and confident as she is with you. You guys have already built a great life together so far, and I’m so excited to see how much more is in store for you.”
She raised her glass, with applause echoing in the background. Family and friends whooped and cheered, clinking their glasses together. From what I could see, Anna and Josh’s easy laughter, lighthearted kindness and genuine care and affection for one another radiated onto all that came into their presence. These are two souls that I am so happy for, and I’m so glad to have met them.
Congratulations to you both as you begin your lives together!!
And many thanks to the fabulous team who added to this couples’ stunning weekend!
